Products from these manufacturers are either designed to reduce waste, or built in more environmentally friendly methods than the norm. Our recyclable, bpa free water bottles from EarthLust, Laken, and SIGG are helpful in reducing our dependence on petroleum based products (plastic water bottles). Re-using water bottles is one of the simplest ways to make a positive impact by reducing waste.
The Green Gear section features snowshoes from Crescent Moon in Boulder, CO. They're not only made in the USA, but made in a 100% wind-powered facility, and are PVC (petroleum) free. Our friends down the road at Pacific Outdoor Equipment have made some amazing strides in reducing manufacturing waste, as well as using more environmentally friendly materials in their gear. Their Pacific Outdoor Eco Thermo 6 Sleeping Pad was a winner of the Backpacker Magazine's Editor's Choice Green Award.
