How has Aquapac improved the Waterproof SLR Camera Case recently?

In 2008 Aquapac went 100% PVC-Free across their product line. Their new material (TPU) offers a number of advantages, besides being much better for the environment:

It's softer and more malleable, so has a nicer feel to it

It'll perform much better if you want to take it somewhere really cold. It is still soft and malleable at -40 degrees and below

It has a greater tensile strength, meaning it's even more difficult to tear or rip apart

The Aquaclip Sealing System:

The Aquaclip is the key to all Aquapacs. It is an amazing little device that seals the case with a simple twist of a lever.

has a V-groove in one half and a raised V on the other. When the levers on the male half are turned they run up a ramp on the female half, squeezing the two together. The pressure is not sufficient to cut the soft plastic case material, but just enough to make a totally hermetic seal.

The two halves are attached to the case by a pair of flexible clips in such a way that the whole case stays in one piece, even when open. The Aquaclip is made entirely of light injection-moulded plastic. So it can not rust. In tests at Bath University the lever mechanism was tested for 10,000 cycles of opening and closing, with no loss of function. The Aquaclip has passed the two most demanding of all waterproofing standards IP67 and IP68. When you open an Aquapac everything stays in one piece. No loose screws. No need to fold the end of the case. Simple.

UV-Stabilized:

Unless specially treated, most plastics will gradually break down from prolonged exposure to sunlight. This is especially true of transparent plastics, which quickly go yellow. Aquapac case materials are UV-Stabilized so they will not break down in sunlight.

Note: Although the material itself is protected, the case will not protect its contents from harmful rays. Electronic equipment should never be left out in bright sunlight - not even in an Aquapac!

Aquapac Warranty:

Aquapac International Limited offers a Manufacturer's 3-year Warranty that the cases, if used in accordance with the instructions, will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for three years from the date of purchase.

Aquapac is not liable if testing and examination disclose that an alleged defect or malfunction does not exist or was caused by misuse, accident or neglect, or failure to follow the instructions. Neither Aquapac nor resellers can be held responsible for loss or damage to items stored in the case, caused by misuse, accident or neglect, or of failure to follow the instructions.

The cost of returning defective products to Aquapac will be reimbursed, as will the cost of shipping any replacement.

This warranty applies to products bought from an authorized reseller anywhere in the world. It is in addition to the statutory rights applying in your country and does not detract from those in any way.
